Fractional & interim digital leadership

Most growing businesses hit the same wall. They need someone senior to own digital - the strategy, the tech decisions, the team, the vendors, the data. But they can't justify a full-time Head of Digital. Not yet. That's where I come in.

How it works

I embed in your leadership team as a fractional or interim Head of Digital. Same strategic input as a permanent hire; without the permanent cost.

This isn't consulting in the traditional sense - flying in, writing a deck, disappearing. I'm in your Slack, your analytics, your board meetings. I own the digital direction and the decisions that come with it, then I make sure they actually get executed.

Most engagements run three to six months, sometimes longer. Long enough to set direction, build capability, and leave you in a stronger position - whether that means hiring my permanent replacement or continuing on a retained basis.

At a glance

  • Commitment: 1-3 days per week
  • Typical engagement: 3-6 months
  • Setup: Remote-first, on-site when it matters
  • Role: Part of your leadership team, not an outside adviser

What I bring

Not a marketing consultant. Not a tech consultant. The person who connects both to commercial outcomes.

  • Digital strategy that ties marketing spend to revenue, not vanity metrics
  • Commercial thinking first - conversion, customer lifetime value, margin
  • Built the digital teams and strategies that scaled brands to £100m+ in revenue
  • Technical fluency - as comfortable in a GTM container as a board presentation
  • Martech architecture, analytics, and platform decisions
  • The bridge between your marketing team and your tech team (or the person who holds both until you hire them)

Who this is for

  • Businesses doing £2-50m revenue that have outgrown their current digital capability
  • Marketing teams that need a senior leader while they recruit permanently
  • Boards that need digital expertise without the full-time C-suite commitment
  • Companies where "digital" currently falls between marketing and IT with nobody owning it

Not quite the right fit?

If you need someone running your paid media or SEO day-to-day, that's what CanMarket is for. If you need hosting or a simple website, that's what CanHost is for. If you need a software engineer, I'm not your person - but I can probably point you in the right direction.
